METS provides both Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting and Provide First Aid. Please see details below to determine which course is most suited to you.

Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting - HLTAID004​

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

Reflect on incident and own performance

Provide First Aid – HLTAID003

This unit will help you to provide first aid response, life support and management of the casualty, the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Students who are undertaking their qualification through Smart and Skilled funding, will be provided the First Aid training at no additional cost to the quoted student contribution or student fee, provided competency is achieved within two (2) attempts. After this, students will have to undertake the First Aid Unit at their own expense

Information about course dates will be given to you at the time of your enrolment and will also be discussed with you by your trainer at induction. It is however your responsibility to contact the METS office to book into a session, preferably within the first 6 months of the commencement of your course. 

Students who cancel their First Aid class within 48 hours of the date of the class will incur a $50 cancellation fee. The replacement cost of the First Aid text is $20.​


How are these courses delivered?
Both METS first aid courses are delivered in one day as a face to face practical and assessment session
How much does METS First Aid cost?
METS First Aid is inclusive for all current METS trainees!
You can attend this course as a Self Funded student for $160
